Put bananas in the freezer for a few days until the skin is black and mushy. You can put them in a paper bag in the refrigerator for a day or two to speed the process.

Melt 1/4 lb of solid butter.

Add 1 cup of applesauce.

Add 1 egg.

Make a purée with the mushy bananas and start adding it to the mix.

Add 1 cup of all purpose flour and add it slowly as you add the banana purée.

Add 1/2 a teaspoon of baking soda.

Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Stir. It's important that you use a spoon or stirring tool with holes like the one in the photo. You can add chocolate chips if you want to (It tastes awesome with chocolate chips!).

You can add pecans or walnuts if you want to.

Put the mix in a loaf pan (I used small ones but you can use bigger ones if you need to).

Put it in the oven at 325 F for about 1 hour or until it is golden.

Do the knife test (stick a knife in the bread) and if the knife comes out clean it is ready to eat!! If it doesn't put it in the oven for a couple more minutes.
